September 23, 2026 (version 26.323)

  • Several confirmation questions in one click handler – the “jsConfirm” JavaScript function now remembers every confirmed question, so one handler may ask about several things in turn, and the default action of the button runs only after an affirmative answer to the last of them. The element may be omitted (pass “null”) – the function then uses the button that was clicked, which makes it possible to call it even from functions run by the “Save” and “Delete” buttons of an edit form. The button labels are optional and default to “Yes” and “No” in the language of the signed-in user; a new optional fifth parameter is a function executed after a negative answer. After the question about leaving the form has been confirmed, the “Back” button with its own JavaScript no longer runs that JavaScript again

  • Faster synchronization of database tables – the measured batch went down from 96 to 41 milliseconds per record; over a slower line the difference is bigger, because what disappeared were mostly round trips. The way of the transfer does not change, only the requests that could be saved are gone from it
  • A failed transfer no longer blocks the queue for two minutes – until now the thread waited two minutes after an error while holding the database connection and the global synchronization lock. The number of attempts and the time of the next one are now written to the group and the run ends; the queue is set in motion by the next saved record or by a scheduled task. The order of dispatch stays untouched. The “Synchronization” report now shows, for every link, the age of the oldest pending item, the number of attempts, the time of the next attempt and the number of renumbered records, and the “Synchro” log writes out the time of the individual phases of the transfer for every group

  • Complete annotations of the integrated MCP server tools – every tool now publishes all four behaviour annotations including “idempotentHint”, because both the OpenAI plugins directory and the Anthropic connectors directory require each of them to be set explicitly for a published server. The annotations were matched to the real behaviour at the same time: the “write_data” and “rename” tools overwrite the values of an existing record and are therefore newly marked as destructive – an AI client asks the user for confirmation before calling them, just as it does before deleting a record. The same applies to the MCP servers of customer implementations built on the “McpServer” class: the “WriteTool” and “DestructiveTool” methods have a new optional “idempotent” parameter, and a tool that overwrites existing values belongs to “DestructiveTool” from now on

  • Help for every row of the configuration dialogs of controls – the dialogs of the edit form controls and of the view page controls now explain the individual settings right next to them, and every help leads through a “more…” link to the corresponding place in the administrator guide.
  • A “Ctrl + M” keyboard shortcut for switching between user and administrator mode – the shortcut works from any part of the portal window (the header, the navigation area and the content), including an open edit form and a RichTextBox control, and behaves exactly like the switch in the header: it keeps the displayed record or view page and asks about unsaved changes first. It is offered only to a user with administrator rights and is also stated in the tooltip of the switch; it does not apply inside configuration dialogs and forms opened in a separate window

  • Restricting access to the integrated MCP server to selected administrators – the “Permissions” tab in the NET Genium settings now makes it possible to list the administrators who are allowed to work with the MCP server of the instance. As long as the list is empty, the MCP server can be used by any user with administrator rights, as before; as soon as the list contains at least one record, only the “Administrator” user and the listed users get through – for everyone else the request to “api.aspx” is refused with a 403 response and the reason is written into the “System” log. At the same time, an administrator who is not on the list is no longer offered the token permissions for reading and writing all data and the model in the Change password dialog

  • Ready-made values for connecting an AI tool on the “MCP token” tab – the Change password dialog now also prints the address of the MCP server of the instance, the “setx” command that stores the token in an environment variable, and two ready-made texts for the Claude Code tool: with the first one the user has the “.mcp.json” file created, with the second one they verify the connection after the restart and have an overview of the instance written into a “CLAUDE.md” file. Each value can be copied with a single click, so the setup no longer has to be assembled from the guide. The “setx” command carries the real token only right after it has been generated – after that a placeholder, because the token is displayed in readable form only once
  • An ajax mode of the edit form and the view page – the “FULLAJAXMODE()” server function in the notes switches the page into a mode in which ajax requests are used instead of submitting the form, so saving, deleting and clicking a button no longer redraw the whole page and the scroll position and the state of the window are preserved. In this mode the custom JavaScript runs in the global scope and runs again after every request, and does so before the page is uncovered – the requirements on how it is written are listed in the description of the function

September 8, 2026 (version 26.285)

  • Recovering a forgotten password by a link instead of a temporary password – a single-use link arrives in the e-mail, and opening it lets the user set a new password right away, with no temporary password to retype anywhere; the link is valid for 1 hour, using it invalidates it, and it is built from the “Portal address” field in the NET Genium settings, in NET Genium Online from the identifier of the instance. When no portal address is available, a temporary password is sent as before, likewise valid for 1 hour
  • The “URL” field in the NET Genium settings renamed to “Portal address” – the name says what the two addresses under it are for and matches the way password recovery refers to them; the labels of the two fields have been shortened to “Intranet address” and “Internet address”, and the content of the fields and their behaviour stay unchanged
  • Sending lost passwords enabled by default in NET Genium Online – in the cloud, password recovery is the only way back into the instance, because there is nobody to reset the administrator's password; the setting stays switchable and is turned on for existing cloud instances during the update
  • A limit on password recovery requests – it is now possible to request recovery at most five times in 24 hours for each user (only once until now), so a typo in the address or an e-mail that landed in spam no longer blocks the user for a whole 24 hours; the limit of three requests in five minutes from a single IP address remains
  • A single answer of the login page to a password recovery request – the answer is the same regardless of whether the entered user exists and has an email address filled in, so valid user names cannot be probed through it; the reason for a failed delivery is written to the “Warnings” log
  • A notification of the password change by e-mail – once the password recovery is complete, the user receives an e-mail at their email address with the date, the IP address and the browser the change was made from
  • A cloud look of the password e-mails – in NET Genium Online, both the password recovery e-mail and the password change notification are sent in the same look as the other cloud messages: a button instead of a bare link, and an overview of the request details (portal, date, IP address, browser); a classic installation sends the e-mails unchanged

  • Collapsing the header together with the navigator – clicking the icon in the left part of the application groups bar now reduces not only the width of the navigator, but also the height of the header down to the application groups bar itself; the icon therefore stays at the very top, and a second click restores both the original width of the navigator and the original height of the header. The setting is remembered by the browser, so the portal opens in the state the user left it in last
  • Choosing the destination when uploading an image in the layout – after a file is selected with the “Browse” button of the “Header – Image” field, NET Genium asks whether the image should be saved to this field, or to the “Themes” directory; when the “Themes” directory is chosen, a second question follows asking whether the image should be used as the logo, or as the background image, and the path to the uploaded file is filled in the “Header – Logo” or the “Header – Background image” field right away

  • Connecting to the integrated MCP server by signing in instead of by a token – the instance is now an authorization server of OAuth 2.1 as well, so that even a client which does not let you set the “Authorization” header connects to it (claude.ai and the other Claude surfaces); the user enters the address of the instance and nothing else, goes through the usual sign-in and ticks on the consent screen whether the application may read and write data, whereupon the application receives an access token valid for one hour, which it renews on its own. Access is granted this way only to a user with administrator rights and only in an instance running at the root of the web site over HTTPS
  • An overview of the connected applications and disconnecting them – the Change password dialog has a new “Connected applications” tab where the user sees which applications were granted the access and since when, and where they can be disconnected; a disconnected application loses the access before its token expires

August 27, 2026 (version 26.229)

  • Redesign of the portal user interface – hover feedback added to action fields and a new login window
  • Reading the content of attachments through the integrated MCP server – the “read_attachment” tool returns, by the attachment ID, images ready to be displayed, text files as text in the encoding recognized from the stored file and other files as an embedded resource in Base64 encoding; the attachment size is limited to 10 MB
  • Creating attachments through the integrated MCP server – the “create_attachment” tool creates a new attachment from text or Base64 content and returns the ID of the record in the “sfiles” table, which is written into File and Image columns with the “write_data” tool; existing attachments are never modified – a replacement is done by creating a new attachment and updating the ID in the record

  • NET Genium user identity in a custom API – a single call to “AuthorizedUser” validates the personal MCP token with the “Access via custom API” permission and returns the token owner as a “NETGeniumUser”; an invalid, expired or unauthorized token ends with a 401 response

  • A new way of programming print templates in PDF format – the external function builds the document as HTML and NET Genium takes care of the conversion to PDF, the letterhead background, the page numbering, the fold marks, the embedded attachments and the conversion to the archival PDF/A format
  • Usage statistics, record counts and index analysis in the integrated MCP server – the AI assistant analyses the performance of the instance directly from the running system, without downloading any reports: the slowest pages, queries and scripts, the sizes of the tables, and the columns that are used in joins and have no index
  • Writing user groups and rights groups through the integrated MCP server – a token with the write permission can create, rename and delete records in the “susergroups” and “srightsgroups” tables; records protected by the system remain protected against deletion

  • The knowledge of the NET Genium framework in the integrated MCP server – the AI assistant asks the instance itself for the documentation of the platform and designs applications according to the current standards
  • The model of the implementation in the integrated MCP server – application groups, applications, edit forms, user groups and rights groups, and the data model, always read only
  • The tools with the knowledge of the framework and with the model of the implementation are given to every MCP token whose owner has administrator rights, regardless of the permissions for reading and writing data
